This initiative of planning participated for the municipality of Gravellona Toce is born from the collaboration among the laboratory Controprogetto and the cooperative Alekoslab.
The CCR (town suggestion of the boys) of Gravellona has expressed the desire to have in their town one "plaza", agreement as place of meeting, to be able to walk or to freely play. Unfortunately the only examples of plaza of the country are currently that of the Municipality, in truth a parking lot and the “crociera”", place of passage for all the cars of the Province Verbano-Cusio-Ossola. The interested place is the plaza in front the primary school, already part to a project of intervention regarding the road network and the pedestrian runs.
The boys of the CCR of Gravellona Toce are directly interested in the planning of this place thanks also to the role of the Group of  Support of the adults and the middleman of the cooperative Alekoslab. A run of participated planning with Controprogetto’s architects will start from March 2008.
The run will develope through different phases:
Phase 1_Walking in the contexts of reference
Is very important before every thing to appraise the context of reference, that is a plaza or a green space, to understand the type of place, its vocation, the type of use that the alive ones and it frequents. Through this kind of observations the boys can focus on the theme of planning that more it has struck them.
Phase2_ Suggestions
In this phase are introduced various examples of the world of the art, of the design and the architecture to the boys stimulating them to a new-elaboration and to an own creative answer to the different themes
Phase 3_Listening, project and feasibility
This phase we hold both the most important before the layout of the real project. Through the listening of the different demands it can be come to formulate a project indeed participated, that answers to the needs of whom lives the interested spaces. A free creative phase.
Translation of the sprouts in concrete and realizable projects. Introduction to the knowledge of the materials, to the value of the recovery trying to involve producers and suppliers that are found to produce some reusable discards.
Phase4_preliminary plan
After having welcomed the incetives, controprogetto’s architects will develop the most technical parts of the project. A series of revisions allows the boys to maintain more the control on the project and the introduction of time in time details.
Phase5_Condivision
Preliminary plan will be shared with the participants to the planning.

Once completed, the project will  be introduced to possible sponsors and suppliers and to the commune or to the structure that materially will finance the project, terminal of the run of participated planning.
In a following phase as our experience within the participated construction has taught us, the run doesn't exhaust him with the inauguration of the area. The maintenance and the care of so particular structures it is integral part of the run of civic education that animates the whole project.
The boys that are sometimes the first persons responsible of episodes of degrade and vandalism in periodic moments of maintenance will be involved for making that the structures maintain him in the time.
